Sandra Stigert
Karsborg, Sweden
Sandra Stigert lives and works in a small rural village. She is an artist and craftsperson specializing in traditional woodcraft, with a particular focus on fan birds. Her practice combines storytelling, sustainability, and heritage through a tactile making process. Working with traditional craft methods, she explores the relationship between wood, place, and memory, and is especially drawn to materials that carry a history and reflect their natural environment.

Lakes and forests are central to both her life and artistic inspiration; their cycles and ecosystems shape the rhythm of her practice. Through carving, she reflects on how we coexist with freshwater landscapes and what they can teach us about care, time, and renewal.

"Echoes of the Lake" is a collection of hand-carved birds made from reclaimed or lakeside materials, each shaped by both nature and tradition. The pieces articulate a dialogue between human touch and environmental forces, ripples, drift, and migration, imagining sustainable futures as poetic, locally grounded, and rooted in respectful making.

Wall Birds
50
Each bird pair is carefully hand-carved from reclaimed Swedish hardwood – oak, ash, walnut
or mahogany – and ready to hang directly on the wall. Inspired by the lakes and the birds
that circle above them, these quiet wooden silhouettes bring movement, memory and
warmth to any room. Limited edition.
Lucky bird
25
A miniature version of the traditional Swedish fan bird, crafted to hang from a rearview
mirror, window, or as a thoughtful gift. Carved from aspen, each bird is made in solid piece
of wood and folded feather by feather. All lucky birds arrive with an affirmation – just like a little fortune cookie.
Wall tealight holder
45
Each holder is hand-carved from solid wood, shaped with a soft, organic curve to cradle a
single tealight. The piece is oven-darkened to bring out the natural grain and warmth of the
material, giving every holder its own quiet presence.
Measuring approx. 14–16 cm across, it mounts directly on the wall and brings a gentle glow
to any space – hallway, kitchen or bedroom. A small gesture of warmth, simplicity and craft.
Made in very limited quantities from reclaimed or leftover wood.
