Rebeka Csiby-Gindele is a product designer whose practice focuses on furniture design as well as conceptual, narrative-driven projects. She grew up in a region of Romania where everyday life was closely connected to nature, an experience that continues to shape her design perspective. In her work, she often explores and reinterprets traditional techniques, drawing on regionally sourced materials and local knowledge. She is particularly interested in how craft heritage can inform contemporary design in meaningful and sustainable ways. Her practice includes reimagining water-related objects into a contemporary context, offering an ecologically conscious approach in both material and technique.

"Úszka" is a handcrafted wooden floating object designed for recreational use in lakes. The concept is inspired by a traditional handmade pinewood frame, shaped like an ox yoke, remembered by Rebeka’s grandparents from Bear Lake (Medve-tó) in Sovata, Romania, where it once served as a simple floating ring. Úszka offers a sustainable alternative to plastic while reinterpreting a locally made, traditional swimming aid.
